Compliant Facilities

In general, GEP compliant facilities:

• Operate in accordance with GEPSA approved general and specific SOPs.
• Maintain sufficiently qualified personnel and appropriate infrastructure and equipment for their purpose.
• Ensure traceability, accuracy and reliability of data.
• Are subject to independent GEP audits coordinated by GEPSA.

Facilities that successfully meet GEP requirements are recognised by GEPSA and issued a conformance letter, confirming compliance status. GEP compliant facilities play a critical role in supporting high quality, credible efficacy and phytotoxicity data for agricultural remedy registrations, ensuring alignment with international standards and regulatory confidence.

In South Africa, only GEP compliant facilities may conduct efficacy and phytotoxicity trials in support of agricultural remedy registrations under the Fertilisers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act (Act No. 36 of 1947).
